Congratulations to SAFE, and thanks to the NZ SPCA, for victory in the campaign to ban ‘Catcha Cray’ arcade style machines that treated animals like toys.

NZ government backs greater penalties for animal cruelty

The New Zealand government has decided to back a bill that will increase maximum sentences for animal cruelty offences from three to five years. Agriculture Minister David Carter issued a statement that he would introduce the Animal Welfare Amendment Bill 2010 into Parliament for referral to select committee.

Rodeo cruelty commences

Stop cubicle dairy farming being introduced in NZ

SAFE is mobilising action to prevent the introduction of dairy factory farms in New Zealand.
